Sound console scene recall checklist

For Yamaha DM7 consoles. Record pre-recall and stored values, Focus and Recall Safe settings, and the operation actually used. If a value differs from the plan, identify the cause and repeat the test with normal operation before approval.

Use this for
Use one row for a channel/parameter pair within a scene. Retain previous results and assign a new test ID when retesting the same scene.

When to use it

Use one row for a channel/parameter pair within a scene. Retain previous results and assign a new test ID when retesting the same scene.

Channels, fader values, settings and results are fictional. They are not recommended levels or console settings. The assigned audio engineer must decide the actual system and output conditions.

Fill in the template step by step

When to use it

Use when receiving DM7 scene files or checking revised scenes and common exclusions before audience admission.

What to have ready

  • Scene numbers, titles and delivered file versions
  • Current and stored values for the channel/parameter being checked
  • Focus and Recall Safe screen records
  • Actual console and firmware details, test owner and output-control owner
  1. Identify the scene ID and file version. Record the parameter’s current and stored values separately.

  2. Record whether scene Focus is enabled, what it includes and what common Recall Safe excludes. Use both settings to determine the expected value.

  3. Recall the scene under conditions approved by the audio engineer. Record any temporary SEL action, test time and observed value under the same test ID.

  4. Hold approval if results differ and investigate the cause. Retest with the intended normal operation, then give the approved items and result files to the PM and next operator.

Check your completed template

  • One test record contains the current value, stored value, both settings, actual operation and observed result.
  • Differences are resolved or held with a named owner and retest time.
  • Revised files can be distinguished from previously approved files even when the scene number is unchanged.

What to pass to the next person

The audio engineer reviews approved scene/filter settings and outstanding holds with the next operator. The PM retains the file version and the items approved.

Check before using this template

This record is based on DM7 Series documentation. It does not guarantee behaviour of other Yamaha models or firmware, or certify output safety. Completing it does not grant console-operation or safety-approval authority.
