Architectural conservation and archaeology in one exhibition

In a 22 September press release, organiser Leipziger Messe announced that this year’s event will have a dedicated archaeology exhibition area for the first time. Visitors can explore techniques for repairing architectural heritage alongside the work of investigating and recording heritage beneath the ground. Comparing the hands that repair buildings with those that uncover artefacts can offer an interesting perspective.

See traditional skills from across Europe up close

According to an organiser interview published on 26 October, the European Mosaic of Heritage Practitioners will invite ten practitioners from ten European regions to demonstrate traditional skills. The work spans different materials and techniques, including Armenian stone monument making and Lithuanian wooden mask carving. Choose the materials that interest you and plan your route around the demonstration times to make the most of your visit.

Opening hours and venue

The venues are Hall 2 and Congress Center Leipzig (CCL), at Messe-Allee 1, 04356 Leipzig. Opening hours are 09:30–18:00 on 5 and 6 November and 09:30–16:00 on the final day, 7 November. All times are local to Leipzig.

Your admission ticket also provides access to MUTEC, the museum and exhibition technology trade fair. MUTEC takes place only on 5 and 6 November, so choose one of those two days if you want to visit both exhibitions.
