Live Caption Audio and Display Test Log

Check that podium, audience-question and remote-speaker audio reaches the captioner and that captions appear on audience screens. Record where text is missing or wrong and the result of the retest in the same row.

Use this for
Use the actual session account, microphones and screens. Give podium speech, audience questions and remote presentations separate rows when their audio routes differ.

When to use it

Use the actual session account, microphones and screens. Give podium speech, audience questions and remote presentations separate rows when their audio routes differ.

Passing a few test phrases does not guarantee all speech accuracy or legal compliance. Agree terminology, speaker identification and readable display conditions with the organiser and caption provider.

Fill in the template step by step

When to use it

At final technical rehearsal and after any caption input or display change.

What to have ready

  • Session and speaker list with terminology
  • Audio patch, caption input and audience display diagram
  • Test passages and agreed acceptance items
  1. Create a row for each speech route and record the input the captioner actually receives.

  2. Use the actual microphone to test terminology, speaker changes and audience questions. Check venue and online screens separately.

  3. Identify whether missing captions originate at audio input, caption generation or display, then assign the repair.

  4. Retest the changed route. Hand over the test record and identify only the sessions and routes actually confirmed.

  • Every speech route intended for use has a test result.
  • Routes on hold and alternative-announcement owners are recorded separately from successful tests.

What to pass to the next person

Send route versions and the unresolved list to audio, video, captions and session leads.

Check before using this template

Enabling automatic captions is not acceptance testing. Agree the provision against participant needs and the actual event setting.
