When to use it

Open a record when preparing the work. Link later checks and changes using the same item ID.

What to have ready

  • External/source files, folder locations and approved recipients
  • Protected/editable ranges, role test accounts and fictional data
  1. Check internal data/source links and file/folder access.

  2. Test Viewer access and Editor permitted input/protected edits separately.

  3. After fixes, retest the same roles and record sharing and handover.

Check your completed template

  • Access, inherited permissions, protection and actual-role tests correspond.
  • A warning is not treated as blocking, nor a Viewer’s edit failure as range-protection proof.

What to pass to the next person

The administrator hands access/protection and test records to the workbook owner. That owner receives the recipient list and responsibility for retesting changes.
