Case context An outdoor performance of Red Bull Symphonic 2026 in South Africa.
On 13 and 14 June 2026, Red Bull Symphonic held performances in an outdoor space at Montecasino in South Africa. House music and an orchestra played together. As the approach to bringing music together changed, so did the criteria for choosing the venue.
On 15 March 2026, Borealis presented Paragorgia at the Nordnes Sjøbad swimming pool in Bergen, Norway. Instead of sitting in auditorium seats, the audience immersed themselves in the pool and listened while watching the musicians performing at its edge.
On 18 July 2023, the government of the Australian state of Victoria announced that it would not host the 2026 Commonwealth Games. The government said hosting costs would exceed AUD 6 billion. This was an estimate presented by the government at the time, not money actually spent.
The UK outdoor festival Greenbelt announced a new plan for its spaces in March 2025 in response to rising production costs. The plan was to alternate the use of two music stages and combine two partner spaces into one. However, the public materials do not establish how much was actually saved.
On 11 September 2025, the Tokyo World Athletics Championships organising committee announced that road-event starts on the first three days would move from 8 am to 7:30 am. Start times for events inside the stadium remained unchanged. Spectator shelters along the marathon course were also to open in line with the revised time, but two retained an exception with 9 am openings.
Denmark’s Roskilde Festival said it would use approximately 15.4 million Danish kroner (DKK) left over from the 2025 festival for children and young people. The same report also includes money spent preparing the next festival and investment items. These funds have different permitted uses, so they need to be examined separately.
Research presentations took place at three venues in Exeter, United Kingdom, on 19–21 May 2025. Bootlegger, City Gate Hotel and White Hart Hotel each hosted three talks every evening, making 27 talks in total. Audiences listened to researchers, asked questions and, in some cases, tried actual equipment themselves.
The opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games took place along the Seine. The initial plan was for 600,000 people to be able to watch. In March 2024, the plan became more specific: 104,000 paid tickets for the lower quays and free viewing by invitation for 222,000 people on the upper quays, a total of 326,000. The ceremony took place on 26 July, and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) reported that about 320,000 people watched in person.

Case context Singapore Grand Prix, 15–17 September 2023. A case in which redevelopment made the Bay Grandstand unavailable, leading to changes to the circuit and viewing arrangements.
For the 2023 Singapore Grand Prix, redevelopment of The Float made the Bay Grandstand unavailable. The organisers therefore changed both the circuit and the viewing arrangements. New grandstands and additional ticket options partly replaced the lost capacity, but the organisers did not claim to have restored the previous scale in full.

Case context The Glasgow Commonwealth Games (2026), Scotland, United Kingdom. This article covers the decision deadline, conditional agreement and official host confirmation in 2024, and the conclusion of the Games in 2026.
In August 2024, the Commonwealth Games Scotland (CGS) Board set 17 September as the deadline for receiving letters of government support. Without them, it would withdraw from hosting the 2026 Games. Even after the government announced its support, the organiser’s agreement and the international federation’s confirmation of the host proceeded through several stages involving legal agreements.
